Bohemia Interactive reached out in spring 2024. The brief: make something for DayZ fans who take survival seriously. Post-apocalyptic aesthetic, handmade, Czech wood. No stockroom merch.
DayZ has a community that takes survival all the way. Players meet up at fan events, shoot their own films, build replica weapons. A t-shirt or keychain feels lame to them. They know what's good and they spot what isn't.
Bohemia wanted a product a fan would put next to their PC and use every day. Post-apocalyptic vibe, but not kitsch. Functional, not decorative. Something that gets photographed and posted to Discord.
We designed a stand that holds a phone with MagSafe charging, doubles as an organizer for small items and a headphone rest. Charred oak, laser-cut DayZ logo on a perforated copper panel, magnetic clips for small items. Every piece hand-finished in Šumperk.
The phone sits at the right angle and charges at the same time. iPhone 12 and newer, Android via a MagSafe ring.
Two shallow pockets for keys, a watch, AirPods. Oak, sanded, oiled. A feel you recognize the moment you touch it.
DayZ logo laser-cut into the copper panel, charred oak as the body. A post-apocalyptic aesthetic that quietly belongs in the community.
Packaging designed as a survival kit. Branded cardboard with the DayZ logo, dry grass inside instead of foam padding. The community responded exactly as we hoped. Unboxing videos hit social media within hours.
We design, build and package a product that fans won't forget. From 10 pieces, 4–6 weeks, made in Czechia.
